This Devlog is intended to update the people as the game jam is active
today I added the game over screen, basic music, and starting on putting the save screen. (no load yet but is planned). put the proper boss name for boss 2.
below is the plan for the game jam from here on
- add a load screen
- add a game menu
- add post start character customization
- add floor B29-B25 (B25 is planned to be another boss floor) (29-26 are either puzzle or enemy elimination floors)
- add more music files
update 6:00PM same day
- added a load screen
- added a game menu to customize the character (no map functionality but the framework is there)
- fixed a bug in which MP/stamina was never checked before using the ability
- added the ability to continue a boss from when you paused (clears projectiles though. limitation of GB studio)
- removed the cooldown for physical attacks
- reduced the cooldown for ranged attacks
- increased the damage chris/krystal's gun does to turret and marcher enemies
- added in a epilepsy warning at the start
- added in the series filler page
- minor bug fixes (lots of minor bug fixes mostly arising from the pause screen)
update 9:12 PM same day
- added in a primitive map system. it shows the current floor layout
update 1/24/2025:
- added in sound effects to some objects
- partially added in a third weapon type
- fixed the graphical error on bottom of screen on maps
- partially added in the next floor
update 1/25/2025:
- added in volume control
- added extra sections to the title and game menu to link to the new volume control
- lowered the default volume from the max being 7 to 3. after that it will take from the first save file that has data on it
- note 0 means the music will be muted (and stopped) but there still will be sound effects (but very softly)
update 1/26/2025:
- added in 3 more rooms to B29
- added in map for B29
- added in an attack that can be accessed via an unlockable attack in one of the new areas
- mostly added in the third weapon type. it has a 1% chance of instant kill common enemies or a 99% chance to deal 1 damage. mostly is to unlock special areas. it is unlocked by killing turret enemies (enemies on the west wing of B31). only is missing a hud icon
- added in the 4th attack (5th in cycle) currently it is just a base gun attack but planned on it slowing enemies down permanently. like the third weapon type there is no icon yet for the hud
- added in the ability to cycle and skip un-obtained abilities
update 1/27/2025 post midnight:
- added in the attack icons for attack abilities 1-5
- added in slowing debuff on the 4th attack.
update 1/27/2025:
- added in some rooms to B28
update 1/28/2025
- finished B28
- increased Health on B28 enemies
- fixed minor glitches
- added in new intro dialog
- added in a save point
- created a flash save version.
update 1/29/2025
- added in Bias' motif to scenes he is a part of
- added in Chris/Krystal's motif to the intro scenes they are not in the party
- added in Chris/Krystal's Battle theme to the fight
update 1/30/2025
- started making B27
- changed the original plan for B27 and made it a greenhouse theme
- added in a new type of enemy.
